How Does LaseMD™ ULTRA Work?

Before treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area that will be treated. Lutronic’s LaseMD™ ULTRA lasers are customized to the patient’s individual needs. During the procedure, light and heat energy safely penetrate the skin and create micro-channels to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. This causes the body to produce more collagen and elastin during cell turnover rejuvenating the skin to become smoother, clearer, and more youthful.

The average treatment session lasts 20 minutes. Your experience depends on the intensity of the wavelength adjusted for your skin concerns. LaseMD™ skin resurfacing treatment is painless skin revitalization where most patients report a slight warming sensation but no discomfort.

Recovery & Results

You may experience some mild redness, warmth, and dryness for a few hours following treatment. There is minimal downtime afterward with many patients able to return to their normal routine after a few days. We do recommend you protect your skin from the sun to avoid damage and follow your after-care instructions as directed.

Patients may notice an improvement in their skin immediately following treatment. Over the next few months, results will continue to improve as collagen levels increase. With each successful treatment, the results will become more noticeable. Once the patient’s goal is achieved, regular touch-up sessions may be scheduled to help maintain results.

LaseMD Ultra is a fractional, non-ablative skin resurfacing treatment. Rather than damaging the skin’s surface and requiring a significant recovery, LaseMD Ultra causes gradual skin flaking in the days after treatment. By utilizing your body’s natural healing process, the recovery from LaseMD Ultra is greatly reduced from traditional ablative treatments, even allowing patients to cover the skin in make-up after just a couple of days.

Yes! We are able to offer the LaseMD Ultra treatment after injectables. In fact, we can offer the LaseMD Ultra as an add-on should a patient experience unexpected injection site bruising!

The LaseMD Ultra treatment creates tiny microchannels on your skin’s surface. These microchannels are essentially small wounds that are scabbing over to protect the skin as it heals. As such, you can expect your skin to feel rough. Many clients describe the feeling like sandpaper. This is exactly what we want from this treatment – it signals to the body that new skin needs to be produced! It is important to moisturize and apply sunscreen regularly, but the sandpaper-like feeling should dissipate in a few days.

You may also experience a ‘frosty’ appearance over certain types of spots. This is normal and is nothing to be worried about. This will minimize in a couple of days and then scan over

Generally, we recommend our clients wait about one month to six weeks between LaserMD Ultra treatments.

As the Lase MD Ultra treatment is non-ablative, the downtime you can expect is minimal. Therefore, we recommend waiting a day before applying makeup. Make sure that all of your makeup brushes are clean and remember to moisturize and apply sunscreen along with your makeup routine.
