Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is basically the unintentional loss of urine. Stress incontinence happens when physical movement or activity — such as coughing, laughing, sneezing, running or heavy lifting — puts pressure (stress) on your bladder, causing you to leak urine. Stress incontinence is not related to psychological stress.

If you have SUI, you may feel embarrassed, isolate yourself, or limit your work and social life. You may also avoid physical and leisure activities. With a treatment like Viveve, you’ll likely be able to manage SUI and improve your overall well-being.

Yes, like all body tissues. Aging in the vagina can lead to many problems for women that can disrupt their daily lives and their intimate relationships. Signs of aging can be dryness, bladder leakage, or stress urinary incontinence, vaginal atrophy, pain during intercourse, decreased climax, laxity or looseness from an overstretched vaginal wall, tears or a thinner wall
in general.

Vaginal atrophy is the thinning and shrinking of vaginal mucosal lining. This is caused by decreased estrogen production with age, menopause, breast cancer treatment and chemotherapy. Vaginal atrophy causes dryness, itching, painful intercourse and urinary incontinence.

Viveve does not generally cause our patients any pain or discomfort. Many of our patients will experience a sensation of cooling and heating over the course of the procedure.
Viveve is one of our quickest cosmetic rejuvenation treatments, lasting only 30 minutes to 1 hour and only requiring one in-office visit.
It is common for patients to feel immediate results which last a couple of weeks which may subside as the body begins its rejuvenation process. Most of our patients will notice reduced symptoms in a few weeks. At the 6-12 week mark, there should be a significant difference.
Viveve generally lasts for a year, however, it can last much longer, depending on your unique body and lifestyle factors. To maintain the benefits of the treatment, we recommend maintenance treatments every year. At M50, we offer special pricing for patients who continue maintenance treatments.

It is recommended to wait at least 48 hours before resuming normal sexual activity. Though you may be tempted to get right back into the mix, you should always consult the experts at M50 to ensure that you are ready.

Downtime for Viveve is minimal or non-existent for the majority of patients. In most cases, our patients can get right back into their routine after the treatment is completed. You can schedule Viveve during a break and get right back into your schedule as if nothing had happened. This will also help to ensure your privacy, as you won’t need the recovery time of other vaginal rejuvenation procedures.
